20 Ways to Help a House Sell Faster



  1. be aware of buyers first impression of the exterior, and what you can do to improve their impression

  2. Paint any parts of the home that's needed

  3. Clean or replace any wonky carpet

  4. Check windows and screens, fix any crack or holes

  5. replace old doormats with new ones

  6. get landscaping in shape

  7. clean closets out to make them look roomier

  8. Make sure all appliances are working

  9. clean kitchen cabinets to make it look more spacious

  10. touch up or refinish cabinet

  11. store or dispose furniture to make the home appear more open

  12. remove any item a buyer wouldn't want for example a gaudy chandelier

  13. clean garage and attic storage areas

  14. keep your pets under control

  15. stay out of the buyers way

  16. Give your agent a list of things your family likes about the neighborhood and house

  17. be aware of what similar houses are offering

  18. make sure the terms and price appeal to most buyers price range

  19. Make sure your home smells nice and not like animals or cigarettes

  20. Consult with your agent so you don't spend time and money on non necessities
